Overview

The University of Suffolk, based in Ipswich, is a new kind of university home to just under 5,000 students from almost 70 different countries. With its idyllic waterfront campus in the heart of the city, and proximity to London, the University is not to be overlooked.

Founded in 2007, the University offers a wide-ranging portfolio of undergraduate and postgraduate courses across the Arts, Business, Social Sciences, Humanities, Technology, Health and Sciences.

The University of Suffolk believes that “in a world where nothing ever stays the same, we all need to change, evolve, succeed and change again. That's what we do. Be bold and join us. Together we'll achieve more.”

90% of University of Suffolk graduates were in employment or further study fifteen months after graduating according to the latest Graduate Outcomes survey conducted by HESA in 2020.

Services for International Students

The University of Suffolk has a dedicated Student Life team who are on-hand to support international students with all aspects of university life. There are free English language and academic writing classes available to all students, including one-to-one consultation sessions, and new international students will be assigned a mentor to guide them through the first few months of life in Suffolk. The University is also home to the International Student Community Café, which provides a forum for international students to meet and support one another and engage with Student Services, and the varied calendar of events specifically designed for international students throughout the year.

The University has adopted an innovative learning and teaching style known as Block and Blend, which has resulted in improved attainment results among students.

Location

The University of Suffolk is based in Ipswich, the county town of Suffolk. The local area provides an ideal base to explore the beautiful surroundings of this exciting county such as extensive coastline and fabulous green spaces.

Suffolk is known for its hospitable and friendly nature and the area provides a mixture of dynamic urban centres, coastal resorts and historic market towns. Packed with shops, independent boutiques, restaurants, pubs and cafes, Ipswich also benefits from being just over an hour from London, with excellent road, rail and air links to the rest of the UK and overseas.

I believe my success is due to the great support provided by SI-UK. I was advised the right IELTS courses to attend and they also helped with my visa application. I really want to share with you my positive experience and I would definitely recommend SI-UK to my friends.
